Gettin ready

Postby inthebite » Sun Jul 18, 2010 7:58 pm

For my Annual "summer" trip from Palm beach up the beach to Montauk and Nantucket. Keep the land on the left for 4 days and we will be there. As usual we will try a few drops in the carolinas. I will also give the "DEEP" a few drops further north (if the weather allows). I will keep you all posted here. hopefully including a few pics.
As we do 3 bahamas trips a year and mexico in the spring, I still get all jazzed up to do this northern trip.

There has been some big Red Grouper caught in 20 fathoms off the Frying Pan Tower. Have a safe trip.

Left Palm Beach, Monday to Chucktown SC. fueled up ,ate and bed.
pulled out at 6ish am. Ran east for a little grouper fishing.
First spot was a small patch of bottom in 120ft. Just before we got there the wind started to crank out of the east. Conditions deteriorated quickly with 6 ft 4 sec, intervals. We managed 6 big scamps and a few rock ups. I had enough of the snap/roll, so back up on top at 28kn I started to run NE to the "high rocks" 110ft 1rst drop produced a few more scamps and a red along with a few more "i couldnt stop em" rock ups. 2nd stop No more groupers but 20 or so big seabass and some pinkies along with a doz giant grunts. Back up on step next stop AC NJ pulled in at 1200noon. Back out on Sat after this wind and some much needed rest.
