Well you allready no the leaving the dock part.Well we arrived at our location and after dealing with the crazy wind and tide direction plus other things being in the way. we started fishing not being exactly on target but reading fish and we dropped down and waited after a while of chumming and just picking a couple fish. Capt James went to reset and after that still the same thing plus it was a little to crowded there.
So we moved along and found a pile of fish off away from that area.and had a steady pick of small cod and a few keepers in the mix. After a little while of that we moved again and joined up with the rest of the fleet drifting over large schools of cod and getting a better keeper to short ratio. Still mostly small fish but more keepers than the other spots. after a while working the drift and a few people have good luck with jigs and almost every one having there fair share of Cod Today Capt James Blew 3 and started heading back to the barn.
Not a crazy OMG Day of Cod Fishing but a good day non the less I had 10 keepers from 22-28 inches and had about 20 or more shorts Start to lose count throwing fish back. After a long trip I was Happy to head in.
If the fish stay on the hearing we might have some more good days of jigging.
As usual Capt James put us on the meat and the Deck hands Pat,Larry,Anthony, and a guest appearance by DJ.all tangles and fish were unhooked without issue thank you. All in all it ended up a 12 hour trip for me the mates still had a few hours of work after we got back. and thats long enough when you are heading out to do it all over again the next day.
