For those who enjoy looking at pictures of our waterfront from the past, here is one that is currently listed on eBay - Sheepshead Bay Photo - Brooklyn - Vintage 1960s New York

I always look for old pictures of the fleet, fishing boats and places along the water, and to see one that was taken during my lifetime in a place I grew up around, no doubt made me want to find out a little more.

It also made those at SHEEPSHEAD BITES ask the same question:

Interestingly in the little article, it was stated that this was right where the Lauro family who started and owned STELLA MARIS, rented out row boats.

Are they right, or as we would say, 'in the ball park' with this guess?

Bay End?

Definitely not Stella Maris. If it was you would be able to see pier one or at leat the open water before the piers. That location looks like where Bay End is now. Remember in the sixties Bay End was further east closer to the beginning of the bay

Looks like the picture was taken right after a hurricane.
