I'm helping to spread the word about an upcoming event, "Barnegat Bay Oysters: Folklore, Restoration, and Revival", at the Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Science (MATES) in Manahawkin, NJ on Wednesday, October 24 from 6:30-8:30 PM. Please see the attached flyer for additional information.
This event is being led by Dr. John Wnek (MATES) and organized in collaboration with multiple partners, including Doug Zemeckis (Rutgers Cooperative Extension), Rick Bushnell (ReClam the Bay), and Angela Andersen (Producer, Oyster Farmers movie). The event will consist of presentations on oysters from the following individuals and then their participation in a Q&A panel discussion about oysters in Barnegat Bay:
Angela Andersen - Producer, Oyster Farmers movie
Tim Hart - Ocean County Cultural and Heritage Commission
Paul Hart - Tuckerton Seaport
Rick Bushnell - ReClam the Bay
Adam Sprague - MATES, local oyster farmer
This is a free event and registration in advance is not required. Light refreshments will be served. If you have any questions, then please contact Dr. John Wnek (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Hopefully I'll see many of you there!
