This afternoon I received a call from Marc Fishark from FISHARK ADVENTURES who just spoke to Captain Phil Eastman who had a customer who had landed a whiting that came in at over 6 lbs. This surpasses the current record and Captain Phil made sure that the customer took the fish over to a certified weight station and fill out the paperwork. It turns out that this silver hake came in at 6 lbs and 11 ounces and will now not only be the record whiting for New Hampshire, but also in New England.....and if this fish is brought to a certified IGFA weight station, it would be the largest official weighted. Congrats to the angler who I am told was on his first whiting trip. Mark can fill in more of the details, but we have to say this whiting can feed a family of four!
