FEB 6th - 'NEW LOOK' TO NATIONAL FISHERMEN MAGAZINE

Postby EC NEWELLMAN » Sat Feb 06, 2010 1:08 pm

I don't know if any of you receive the NATIONAL FISHERMEN (thank you Captain RIck), but yesterday I received in the mail my copy of this excellent magazine in a more compact format, with all the pages now having a coated surface to them.

For over 50 years as the NATIONAL FISHERMEN was combined with a number of other publications such as MAINE COAST FISHERMEN, the familiar and unique larger page layout was well known to every fishermen from the east coast to Alaska.

Now they have gone to what seems to be the standard publishing industry size, which does make for easier placing in store racks as well as handling when you read it.

One thing I personally noticed and prefer is that this format makes the NATIONAL FISHERMEN feel like I am reading a book, with one story after another, as you turn the pages. Their is also a greater assortment of high quality glossy color pictures throughout the magazine, which now give you the feeling of standing right on the dock or on the vessel.

Pick one up and take a look at it because there are a number of interesting stories, in particularly one on downeast style Lobster boats and a story which I also mentioned something on in another post, 'CATCH SHARES IN THE CROSSHAIRS'.

You definitely will be as pleasantly surprised in what you will now find in the new NATIONAL FISHERMEN magazine.

I enjoyed the new look. Much easier to read and colorful. I did a double take when it arrived in the mail. Another cataloge that has not changed in a few decades is Memphis Net & Twine.
