These shots are from a long past BACK IN THE DAY (aka years ago) - Sea Bass potting trip. The trip occurred around this time of the year as the sea bass were found in the gear along an edge in under 40 fathom of water, which is a little out of the ordinary since the sea bass in this region are typically found in deeper water depths.
I WAS NOT ON THIS TRIP....A short commentary was added to each image just for clarification.
This is what goes on during a day of setting and picking sea bass pots, from start to finish. It is hard but rewarding work when you zero in on the fish. This is a very healthy fishery with very few participants in this area working gear at this time of the year.
They make it look easy because they are professionals who have spent countless years of their life honing their craft. Remember that when you go to your local fish market and purchase fresh American caught seafood.
