Sea Bass @ H.T.R

Postby Stripedbass91 » Mon Jul 26, 2010 4:07 pm

Hit the ocean today for an early run out to go reef fishing with Kevin and Brian. Had the incoming for about 3 hours with a lot of action! My first drop down I had what must have been atleast a 6 pound sea bass but lost him at the surface :x Had to keep my head up and continue fishing; everyone always knows about the big one who gets away  Anyways, fished until a few hours after the tide changed at around 9ish. Ended the day with 4 nice keeper porgy (many more released) and 10 nice keeper bass up to 4 pounds (would have had a monster much bigger but hey, $h!T happens). Released tons of fish today. Cannot wait to head back out tomorrow, I will let you know how that goes.

Nice report here Stripedbass91...your right, keep your head up even though it is tough losing what sounds like a trophy fish. With Sea Bass, the big fish are always pretty aggressive so a firm piece of skimmer with the belly hanging makes a big difference when you first get to a drop.
