Dear Fellow Angler's:

Welcome aboard the ISLAND CURRENT FLEET as Capt. Chris and his amazing crew pride themselves in top notch service and unsurpassed local knowledge of the western LI Sound.

This season we have enjoyed the addition of our newest vessel the ISLAND CURRENT IV, which is 65’ x 18’ wide fishing vessel. We now have four great boats to choose from depending on the size of your group. All four boats operate out of Jack’s Bait and Tackle, 551 City Island Ave., 1st Traffic light on the right. We are pleased to announce the expansion of our parking facility. When you arrive at the sign just ask one of the parking attendants for the ISLAND CURRENT FLEET.

We sail daily at 8 AM aboard the open boat ISLAND CURRENT III, 76’ x 22’ our largest vessel in the fleet. All of our boats sail daily for either daytime or nighttime fishing. The local PORGY trips have been SUPER as these feisty critters are not only fun to catch but superb to eat. If you would like to set up a private charter the western Long Island Sound offers amazing catches of Blues, Striped Bass, Porgies, & Fluke. The action has been excellent with limits easily being reached and a good number of Sea Bass adding to the action. Our evening trips depart at 6:30 PM for STRIPED BASS & BLUES and return back at approximately 12:30 AM. Please keep in mind that as of 9/7 the porgy limit will increase to 40 fish per angler which should make for an amazing fall. In addition, all of our boats carry the RSA permit which allows us to extend the PORGY season into the months of October and November with a 40 fish creel limit, per person.

Check out our specialty trips which are a lot of fun and provide anglers with an extended day of fishing. These trips will be aboard the ISLAND CURRENT III, 76’ x 22’ wide with plenty of cabin space, fishing comfort, full galley, heated and cushioned cabin, and upstairs accommodations. Many of these trips have a strict passenger limit for extra fishing room and comfort.
