Bryce Poyer (Bryce Poyer)

Based on extensive personal experience, Long Island-native Bryce Poyer has gained a reputation today as one of the most knowledgeable tackle professionals in the world. He is the New York manager of a Florida-based fishing tackle company, for the past 10 years. Bryce began fishing the Great South Bay at five years old under the guidance of his grandfather. By age seven he was fishing offshore. Since high school, he has called the Shinnecock Bay his home waters. He formerly owned a 34 ft. Offsoundings and currently operates a 38 ft. Thomas Marine, the “Blushin Rose.”

Crewing boats from South America, throughout the Caribbean, and up the New England Coast to Maine has provided him with a vast knowledge of fishing the waters of the region. He has crew experience on an 85 ft. Gulfcraft, a 78 ft. Gilliken, 61ft. American Custom Yacht and both a 63 ft. and a 55 ft. Merritt. He has crewed or captained for numerous tournament wins and placings.

Bryce holds a U.S. Coast Guard 200 ton Masters License and manages his active part-time personal charter business, running his 38 ft. Thomas Marine offshore and an 18 ft. King Eider for inshore light tackle and fly excursions. Bryce and his wife, Lisa, have a great love of all things outdoors, including all aspects of fishing and hunting. On any given day they can be found fishing the flats or drifting with live bunker for striped bass.
