Captain Garrett began fishing at a very young age with encouragement and support from his dad Carl. Garrett learned quickly and at a very young age found himself working deck on many of the for hire vessels of the North Fork. He has become a true sharpie now teaching many of his teachers. Garret received his captain’s license at the age of 17 and is now attending SUNY Maritime. Everyone has something to learn from Garrett and he provides a strong role model for young children getting into fishing. There are not too many types of fishing and boating Garrett is not proficient in. While conversing with another captain the comment was made that he will surpass us before we know it. Garrett was 15 when I had that conversation and I still feel the same way.
