I was introduced to fishing by my step father who had owned a boat on Woodcliff Canal in Freeport NY. This is how I grew to love the sport. I remember many seasons starting on St Patrick’s Day pounding the bottom in the back bays of Freeport, Baldwin harbor, Swift Creek. As a young kid I was always intrigued by the fleet of party boats that would come up and down the canal. It wasn’t long before I would be dropped off to spend day fishing on one of the many fishing boats that sailed during the season.
As I got older, I became a regular and met a lot of great fisherman and captains. I consider myself very blessed to be around the party boat industry during that era. It might have not been the “good old days” as they refer to it now, but I sure got a taste of what it was like. As time went on, I started working on boats and began sailing offshore. From Brooklyn to Montauk you would find me fishing the party boat scene. At that time, these were only fishing trips and great adventures for a teenager. Now after looking back, I find them to be great learning experiences that I can share with my family and friends. In time I moved out of state and found my self relocating to Raleigh, North Carolina were I met my wife of 10 years and enjoy everyday with my 6 year old twins and can’t wait for the day they ask me to go fishing. Thanks Fishing United for allowing me to be a part of the family. I hope to continue to fish and meet new friends for years to come here.
