Hi, my name is John Viol. I started fishing with my Father when i was 5 years old. My Dad and i fished both Salt and Fresh water. He worked as a mate in various ports for a number of years, and i followed in his footsteps, working on a few of the City Island Party Boats for several years. Much of my early Saltwater experience was gained by fishing for a lot of years with some of the legends, Capt Al, Capt Tom and Big Sal of the Pilot, John Demaio, Jimmy Devita, and later on Capt Steve (Sr. & Jr.) of the Vikings, as well as Capt. Phil of Eastmans.

I moved up to Northern Westchester 12 years ago, and currently have 4 Boats located on various lakes and reserviors. I fish approximately 100-130 days per year on average (both fresh and salt water). I have been fortunate enough to have traveled and fished Alaska (twice), SanDiego, the keys, as well as various other islands. My fishing partner is my wife (Diane) of 24 years who accompanies me on a number of my trips. I am grateful to Fishing United for allowing me the opportunity to share my knowledge and experience with others.
