Phil Curcio (Sealaw)

Phil is a talented and knowledgeable lawyer who has led the way in our industries fight for fair regulations and sustainable fisheries. His knowledge of our current fisheries management system is second to none and we are incredibly fortunate to have someone of Phils caliber helping us with Fishing United. He is wealth of experience and information and we greatly appreciate his dedication to our industry.

Phil specializes in marine and fisheries law and currently represents United Boatmen of New York, NYFTA and RFA-NY, and is also a registered lobbyist.
Phil has been into fishing his entire life and worked as a mate in Captree from 1974 until 1990. Phil received a B.S. in Fisheries Management from Cornell University in 1995 and then went on to receive a law degree with a concentration in fisheries law from Maine Law School in 1998.

Phil also acted as managing editor of the Ocean and Coastal Law Journal from 1997 thru 1998. He was employed as General Counsel and Program Manager for Sound Keeper located in Norwalk CT. from 1998 thru 2003. At Sound Keeper he was involved in oyster aquaculture, pump out boats, The Clean Water Act and Magnuson Act. Phil is also holds a 100 ton USCG license.

Phil moderates our Regulatory/Aquaculture boards.
