My father took me on my first fishing trip when I was 5. I bothered him so much to take me that he borrowed a couple of rods and took me to the Worlds Fair marina, across from Shea stadium in Queens. We did not catch anything but something clicked inside me and I was drawn to the water ever since. From age 6 to age 14, my father and I would fish every week together. We would fish mostly in SHB but we ventured to Montauk several times a season. Once I was old enough to drive, I went to Montauk fairly often. From flounder to Cod to Tuna, I made many a trip to Montauk throughout the year. It was here that my love for bottom fishing developed. From Cartwright to the BB bouy, wherever the Cod were biting, that’s where I went! My fishing was briefly interrupted by 4 years of college in but once I graduated, it was back home and fishing again. I have been fortunate to have fished with and learned from some of the best fishermen on the east coast. As I creep into my 40s, fishing has become more about friends and good times rather than filling the box. I look forward to fishing in the future with some old friends as well as meeting and fishing with some new ones.
