Title/Location ISLAND CURRENT III: 2/5 CODFISH REPORT
Region New York - North Shore
Fishing Method Inshore
Posted By IC FLEET
Date Posted 2010-02-06 09:11:25

Yesterday, 2/5 was our toughest day of the codfish season thus far. We had one of our largest crowds and the fish did NOT cooperate. It was a beautiful day on the water, the bait was as fresh as you can get it, and the crew put in 110% effort; however, the bite just did not materialize. We were anchored and we drifted it just did not seem to matter.

When were first arrived to the grounds in the darkness the fish seemed to be coming off the feed. We will be sailing the next available day Mother Nature allows at 4 AM.

Thanks for the honest report. I was out yesterday also, on a boat that i will not name, and the report that they posted i think was a little inflated, to say the least. I caught 3 keeper cod , that i worked very hard to get. I seen you guys a couple of times yesterday, as we were moving around a bit looking for fish. The bite was to say the least on the slow, picky side, with 1 or 2 15 minute flurries for the day. Again thanks for the report. I wish you guys were sailing out of montalk.
