Local Cod Report Super Bowl Sunday Feb 7
We left the dock with the winds blowing 25 to 30 So Captain Steven decided to go to the south and look around. And we were rewarded with Ling, Pollack and Cod it was and all out Ling Festival with many Cod some shorts and keepers in the mix, some nice size Pollack 8 to 12lbs mixed in it was a 3 hour non stop rod bending. By 8am the tide changed and the conditions became difficult with the wind against the tide. But by that time some guys already had there limit of Cod, we were seeing guys with between 25 to 40 Ling with Cod mixed in. All in all a Phenomenal day Mr Mike Bock and Dwayne carted off with over 50lbs of filets.Every Passenger on the boat had 25 Ling Chris and Pete combine had 19 keeper Cod and lots of Ling Mr Steve Melish Hicksville NY with a 13lb cod and the second place was a 10lb Pollack. our own Capt Anthony won the local pool with a 10lb Cod.
