Got out Sunday to run the boat, since I haven't been out in weeks. My buddy Rich "Privateer" likes His fluking so I figured We'd give it a try.
Found water temps soaring to near 80 on the surface and a soothing west wind. Poked around the can, South of there then a little East for a slow pick of short fluke.
Not even close to the minimum size actually. :-(
Headed back inshore a bit and found a larger body of fluke, again all shorts (up to 18" and change) with some nice seabass mixed in, drifting near some hard bottom, which was a saving grace.
Decided to anchor up on the same piece to get a few more seabass to send Rich home with a bag of fillets. Picked a few more including this seabass size XL!!
Felt good to get the boat out for a spin and beat some of the heat.
Thanks For Reading.
