Headed out with my son for an early afternoon fluke trip. Decided to stay in j bay and work deeper than I have been . Took a few drifts to find some fish, once I did we had some steady action in 43-53ft of water with the flat ones up to 4.5 lbs. Ended the day with only 2 keepers , but tons of life with around 30 shorts and all the robins you could stand. Tried Peruvians, belly strips, snappers and spearing on spros, swimming mullet gulps in white above the spros. Imparting a little side to side movement to the bucktails as compared to the up and down twitch seemed to be a bit of a difference maker as my son did this and schooled me yet again, at least he let me catch the larger fish today! Lol. Definitely worth staying inside and working the bay on the incoming. The change to the outgoing til around 545 left a lot to be desired. Lots of bait in the bay , and lots of bunker around in the usual haunts still. Its got to get better as the water clears up , its still dirty. Saw the kayakers fishing out there today too hope you guys ended up with a decent catch.

Chet I was looking for your boat, were you out there Wed? Saw quite a few more boaters than normal for a weekday, for the first time it felt like summer vacation on the bay. May be out on Sunday again, maybe ill cya out there.

No I wasn't out. I was at the dungeon. Hopefully I'll be out this weekend.
