Just got a note from my buddy Danny who fished on the Yankee Capts with me. He recieved a call to do some commercial fishing and landed this 57 pound King.

To give you an idea Dan is no slouch, he stands 6' 4" and weigh about 250. Not the best picture from a phone and at night on top.

If that was an SKA tourney that fish would be worth about 10K.

I can't imagine what that reel sounded like.

Dan is a great guy and one of the guys I will be doing a Yuri trip with once we can get a date.

I had a trip with him planned a couple of years ago and we got blown out, which is highly unusual for him..but it was honkin for at least a week before the trip and when we supposed to go.

Looking forward towards the rod.

Just got the real deal from Danny,,they are on fire over there...smokin isn't the word Rich :!:

Told you that reel had to screaming..

Yeah the run is on fire here. We are catching 20 on a bad night and 50 on a good one. Most of time we are around 40 fish. We've had a couple of cobias as well. This king has been the biggest but we've gotten a few in the 40s and good amount in the 30s. We have lost several big tanks so far too. Either break the leader or get sharked up. I hooked one the other night, I had a half a spool and he almost dumped up in 30 seconds. LOL.
